This Consent Agreement (“Agreement”) is made between you (“the User”) and TAPIS.MY (“we”, “us”, “our”), a service provided under applicable Malaysian law.
By proceeding with the identity verification process on TAPIS.MY, you confirm and agree to the following:
1. Consent to Data Collection and Processing
You voluntarily and unconditionally consent to the collection, use, disclosure, and processing of your personal data by TAPIS.MY and its authorized service providers for the purpose of electronic Know-Your-Customer (eKYC) verification.
This includes the collection of:
- Full name (as per MyKad)
- MyKad number
- Photo images of your MyKad (front and back)
- A selfie photo (for biometric matching)
- Your digital signature
- Any additional data required for identity verification
2. Purpose of Consent
Your consent allows us to:
- Verify your identity and authenticate your submitted information
- Conduct background checks with relevant government agencies and databases
- Fulfill our obligations under anti-money laundering (AML), counter financing of terrorism (CFT), and other regulatory requirements
- Detect and prevent fraud, identity theft, and abuse
- Maintain accurate and complete user records
- Enable secure access and usage of TAPIS.MY services
3. Disclosure of Information
You agree that your personal data may be disclosed to:
- Government agencies, regulatory bodies, and law enforcement (as required by law)
- Third-party identity verification providers under strict data protection and confidentiality agreements
- Any other party required by applicable legal or regulatory obligations
4. Security and Retention
You acknowledge that:
- Your personal data will be stored and processed using industry-standard security measures
- Your data will be retained for as long as necessary to comply with applicable laws and regulatory requirements
5. Your Rights
Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA), you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Request correction or deletion of inaccurate data
- Withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us, understanding this may affect service availability
